G.O.O.D. Friday Morning...

The latest release in Yeezy's brilliant G.O.O.D Fridays campaign...

"The Joy" (Featuring Pete Rock, Jay-Z, Charlie Wilson, Curtis Mayfield & KiD CuDi) - Kanye West

Props to Kanye West

SideBar: Looks like this was the track Pete Rock was talking about a couple weeks ago when he said he got a track with Hov rapping like his Reasonable Doubt days.  As much as I anticipated this track I'm kind of disappointed that it was a G.O.O.D. Friday release typically because its such a goooooood track that should have been kept under wraps within the Watch the Throne LP. Then again, that's just my thoughts.  Hopefully Pete Rock has some other type of production on the dream-like duo album.  [Keeps fingers crossed]

My Beautiful Dark Twisted...Tracklisting

If you're not patiently anticipating the release of Kanye's upcoming 5th studio album, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy then its either of these two answers: [1] you're living under a rock or [2] you're a dreaded Taylor Swift fanatic [insert "thumb down" pic].

Either way, the upcoming album due to be released November 22nd, has finally received a tracklisting and contrary to popular belief it is NOT anything like the previously posted list from back in July.

The City was undoubtedly rejuvenated after the tragic loss of B.I.G. and 'Pac (Yeah, the East Coast felt that pain as much as Cali' did)

Weekend Re-Cap...

This weekend's been one interesting weekend for hip-hop.  First we got Vado co-signing Justin Bieber's "Speaking In Tongues" freestyle while blatantly stating "he sounded like (Notorious) B.I.G." #MAJORFAIL, to the release of three of the most important album covers for the most anticipated album releases for the jam-packed month of November.  Check 'em out...

November 9th...

SideBar: Regardless of what some may say CuDi is one of the most talented artists out, hands down.  Man On the Moon: The End of Day is a classic. #Salute

Banned...?

Seriously Yeezy? I'm a big fan of yours and all but, come on homey? Did you really think Def Jam was going to co-sign this album cover? Remember when Kiss had a hard time with trying to release the latter titled The Last Kiss to Kiss My Ass? That plan got halted after the first two months.  Let's not even mention NaS and his latter solo album Untitled.

Now, I know you're all about pushing the envelope in music and all but this album cover does nothing but spark controversy which clearly distances away from the message of the album.  The message is far from ambigious instead kind of degrading.   With that said, let's see what else you got....

Where Were You on February 23, 1995...?

History is right before your eyes, or ears. One corner is Harlem's legendary punchline kingpin, Big L and the next is the G.O.A.T Hov. Who would've known that more than ten years later this freestyle would be one of hip-hop's most iconic sessions to date. True fans that was there to hear it live, remember that the original freestyle between the two spitters went on for about 10 minutes on February 23rd, 1995 episode of The Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito Show on WKCR.  Thanks to DJ Premier Blog & HecticEclectic , we now have a piece of history.

#Slime Flu...

If you didn't cop, what are you waiting for Slime...

SideBar: Mixtape/Album is dope

"Showtime"

It almost goes without saying that Swizz Beatz is one of hip-hop's most revered producers.  Quite frankly and to make a long story short, one of hip-hop's greatest of all time.  Starting at the age of 17, the "Skinny Ni**a" was able to produce for notable acts such as his friend DMX, Jay-Z, Busta Rhymes, and his entire Ruff Ryders camp. Aside from such a wide roster of legendary producers ranging from the king DJ Premier and essential figures such as Dr. Dre, Pete Rock, Large Professor, L.E.S., Q-Tip, RZA, and so on, Swizzy has been able to maintain his own lane throughout his illustrious 10+ year career.

Personally, coming from a time when mafioso rap was beginning too become cliche in the mid to late '90s along with the death of B.I.G. and Pac leaving an everlasting void in the game, the sound that resonated from the Ruff Ryders camp revolutionized hip-hop as a whole.  It was almost similar to the breaking of the Berlin Wall, the way they tore up and changed the culture with the new sound serving as their backdrop.  What differentiates Swizzy from a whole cast of other producers is his ability to create a range of genres of music outside of rap such as R&B and hip-hop/soul to name a few. Tracks like "Jigga That N*gga", "Wild Out", "Ruff Ryders Anthem"and even up to now "Put It in a Love Song" (Alicia Keys/Beyonce), "Million Dollar Bill" (Whitney Houston), "Gucci Time"(Gucci Mane), "On to the Next One"(Hov), "Fancy"(Drake) gives reason to why he will always remain firm in his untouchable placement in not just hip-hop history but, music as a whole.

Don't Erase Us Yet, We Just Getting Started...

WE'RE BACK

It's been almost a month since Pushin' Mounts updated its posts and for the fans and followers, we apologize. But, its not like we did this for no reason, there's about to be some major moves being made with PM and our brief hiatus was a result of it.  Don't need to worry about it happening again however, it's just hard not penning down posting these thoughts.  Look out for the changes and how about that new banner. Big shouts goes to my bro #AllertPhotography.
