Em Stands at Numero Uno

File:RecoveryCoverOfficial.jpg

He told us that he's "Not Afraid" and when time gets rough he "Won't Back Down", however with his latest Recovery, the Detroit MC blew off an Encore and Relapse. Okay enough with the bland wordplay, this past week Eminem was able to outsell his previous two albums (Encore and Relapse) with Recovery reaching sales of 741,000. This ultimately places him as the top selling artist of 2010 along with having 6 number 1 albums.

"F*king Awesome...applaud him"

SideBar:  Yeah, its 741,000.

JULY 20th, the homey @RIckyRozay drops his most anticipated album yet. Teflon Don.  Yeah, he's not the best rapper out in terms of lyrical ability but, one cannot doubt this man's tenacity and ambitious charisma.  With his latest album on the way, Ross will attempt to shun his critics and prove why he's good at what he does.

One thing that urks me about this new album and new movement by the homey is the fact that he's paying homage to the same crime lords that disrespected a culture and people.  Don't get me wrong because a lot of hip-hop artists, and of other genres, pay tribute to these individuals and others that make a name for their selves by any mean necessary.  That being Frank Lucas to Larry Hoover, etc. (no disrespect).  But, for someone that means so much for a community and a figure in hip-hop, why pay homage to figures whom some are quoted as saying  "Being a nigger is an embarrassment..."

I just don't understand...

Michael Jackson - Dirty Diana (Live)

This is one of my favorite MJ tracks. The blazing guitar strings under MJ's vocals are simply amazing.

Moonwalker...

He was the best to do it and to ever accomplish it.  A man whom is described as one of one and like no other.  The Legendary King of Pop. From his epic solo moment on the Motown 25 (to which Diddy describes as "Magic") to this grandeur Super Bowl XXVII Halftime  performance in the Rose Bowl at Pasadena, California; Michael Jackson was such an important and iconic figure to many generations.

His spirit and legacy are impossible to be forgotten

Rest In Peace

We Love You...

AND THE NUMBERS STAND AT...

Guess "a million in a week is farfetched..."

The homey Drake's Thank Me Later was able to pull major numbers as the year's highest selling debut but, failed at living up to the year built anticipation.

Something just wasn't right...maybe next album

Rubberband Stacks...Huuuh!!!

Just like that, Cam'ron and Vado are back for another street takeover with this time, Busta Rhymes.  This is off their upcoming U.N. album dropping August 24th.

"Rubberband Stacks" (Featuring Busta Rhymes) - Cam'ron & Vado

SideBar: I always get hype while watching how NY showed so much love to the homey Cam and Vado to the point that they had the biggest reaction of the night.  Of course it's no surprise considering Cam's track record but, for the dude Vado its even more special being that it was his first show to really broadcast his talent for a whole wider audience.

#CLAPFOR'EM

Flex talks to Vado about his big SummerJam debut: “listen man, this is New York City, my brother, that coulda gone either way for you. I seen people die on that stage…there’s so many things that can happen that can bring a boo out of that crowd but you handled your business, you got more confident as your verse went along….

Slime Flu arrives July 6th

"Taking it back to the BATTLE..."

I just viewed this classic battle between Jae Millz (2010 XXL Freshman Cover ..hater) vs. Murda Mook, and I must say that it was #EPIC.  Both sides went hard but, I got to give it to Jae Millz for holding his own.

Peep the video, it does all the speaking that should be done...

WHO DAT...J.COLE

J.Cole dropped by 106 & Park to showcase the anticipated video for his current single (on iTunes now), "Who Dat"...

The homey Vado brings forth the official Polo anthem for the perfect season...

Polo man on the bottom make the white tee mean....

SideBar: This dude is really repping for the city and a star in the making.  Look out for his anticipated  Slime Flu coming your way July 6th...HUHHHH!!!

Thug Immortal...

Every now and then in this hip-hop thing, we are graced with a special artist that performs at abilities we have yet to fathom.  An artist that single handily raises the bar to new heights.  When that figure leaves us however, their presence remains not in the physical but in the mental form;  thus leaving an everlasting void in the art form that's made them famous.

Today we celebrate the life and legacy of hip-hop's Thug Angel, Tupac Amaru Shakur...

King Uncaged...August 17th

kinguncaged

I figured we had to do some kind of slick and meaningful imagery to say the obvious without doing the obvious. I tried to flip it as much as I could. I wanted it to be a a busy city street. My original idea was to lock down Times Square and let me and the lion do the same thing right there, but we couldn’t quite pull that off; they said it had to be in controlled environment. They tried to do a artsy kind of drawing. It looked good, but it didn’t serve my purpose—it was just a painting. I figured, if it got to be a controlled environment, we may as well just keep it all the way simple make it black and white, white background, me, him, cool chair.

TIP takes simple to a new perspective.  The picture does the talking...roaring.

The Warm Up...1 Year Later

Roc Nation's flagship artist and Pushin' Mounts' favorite, J.Cole drops a verse over the Diddy-Dirty Money  single "Angels"...
My Way like a Ursher song

higher power where these verses from
you niggas hoes, put your purses on
Church, get your worship on
born alone, work alone, die alone
hot fire like Dylan
bitches get they dial on
fake niggas get dial tones
I ain’t no Viacom nigga
I’m a firearm nigga
look how I alarm niggas

"You Could Thank Me Now..." + Light Up (Remix)

I'm sure many of you already know but, the most anticipated album of the year (beside Kanye, Jeezy, AZ, and Jadakiss) hits store shelves today.

Go Out and Support...

SideBar: This Best Buy line for the album signing is serious

"Top 5, Dead or Alive...Coming 3rd Quarter???"

Jada looks to be dropping that Top 5, Dead or Alive LP by October/November with a Lox album in 2011.

Ah-haaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!

SideBar:  He also discusses the Lox album/ BadBoy, Sheek Louch on Def Jam, his beat selection on the new LP, the Kim/Minaj tension, ....wait did I hear correct, Lil' Kim is signed to Hov's Roc Nation???

"All I Want Is You..."

Truthfully, if J.Cole wasn't on this track I doubt I'd be posting it.  After hearing Miguel's vocals a couple of times I have to admit that his voice is reminiscent of an R&B artist from back in the day; he is vocally impressive.

I Was Never a Fan...

No lie but, I can honestly say that I was never a Dipset fan.  I'm sure I'm not the only one who feels or felt this way.  Many ask "WHY?" but, if you're a Hov fan like me you would know the reason for such a resentment.  But, I can't front after playing a couple of their tracks and finding myself rapping along to Cam's signature verses that resentment is soon to be a thing of the past...

"Spark Up the Lighter..."

New J.Cole...

"WE BACK..."

The word "back" is currently in rotation. First with Kanye's first appearance and now after being flicked at a construction site in Brooklyn for a video shoot, Harlem's dream team is BACK...

Dipset B*tch...

"GUESS WHO'S BIZACK..."

Hov brings out a special guest for "Run This Town"...and its not Rihanna. #YESSSS

SideBar: I guess at the June 27th BET Awards, it'll be his first "televised" performance.

Forever Missed

"Can't Stop This..." #ClassicFriday

You all remember when Mr. Shaquille O'Neal tried his hands at rapping back in the day? (Stop laughing)  Surprisingly, unlike his other counterparts that tried the same route (smh), he actually wasn't as bad; especially on this track...

"I Woke Up Feelin' Trap or Die 2 ish..." TRAP OR DIE 2 REVIEW

It was almost 5 years ago, when ATL's own Young Jeezy alongside DJ Drama dropped what many still to this day consider a classic. Trap Or Die was the magnum opus of a mixtape that both introduced Young Jeezy to a much wider audience and undeniably created the platform for his proper entrance with Thug Motivation 101.

SUMMER JAM BABY!!!....

Last night, the New Meadowlands Arena played host to the Tri-State Area's hottest concert of the year...Summer Jam 2010.

"Stop Playin with...My Camaro"

Jeezy & Decatur Dan link up for the visuals of "Stop Playin' Wit Me" & "My Camaro" off the already street classic Trap or Die 2...

SideBar: Look out for my Trap or Die 2 review coming later on this week

"Playing Monopoly with Real Money..."

After viewing the AZ "Feel My Pain" music video, I came to the conclusion and realization of how #EPIC of a video Jay-Z's "Dead Presidents" is.

The Greatest..."Feel My Pain"

The homey AZ takes us on a stroll through memory lane with his visual for "Feel My Pain", the first single off his much anticipated follow-up to his '95 classic, Doe or Die.

I completely forgot about him being on that #EPIC/ infamous round table with B.I.G. and Hov in the "Dead Presidents" video.  #CLASSIC
Doe or Die II coming soon

AZ "Feel My Pain" (Official video) from Clockwork Music on Vimeo.

SideBar: Will it live up to first?  That's the question that seems to ponder. Rae did it, but will CNN, AZ, and GZA (upcoming Liquid Swords 2 on the way) be able to do so as well?

The legendary Queensbridge Duo, Capone-N-Noreaga aka CNN rips the Jeezy, Drake & Weezy track.

"ULTRA Hov..."

Just like us, i'm sure you all thought this was an actual track for an upcoming Hov album or a throwaway track.  Unfortunately it isn't neither, in fact this seems to be a reference track for Diddy-Dirty Money's T-Pain approved/auto-tuned filled Last Train to Paris.

Muhammad Hovi's on this one though...

"Ultra" (Featuring Swizz Beatz) - Jay-Z

Any Bets?...

As many of you know and to those who don't, Drake's upcoming LP Thank Me Later suffered the expected LEAK syndrome.  The year's most anticipated album (besides Kanye's) has leaked and is already gaining great reviews from listeners.  Via Twitter, the Young Money double threat had this to say...

Mixed & Mastered...

Mr. West lets loose the mixed and mastered version of the track that put the internet in a frenzy.  "Thinkin' no one man should have all that power..."

"Power" (Featuring Dwele) (Produced by S1 & Kanye) - Kanye West

SideBar: The artwork above was created by George Condo and is also posted on Kanye's website. Check it out, it's good sh*t.
