The list is a big thing every year because it officially cements the Hip-Hop newcomers face of lyrics to the masses; Creating new fans and exciting/readying existing. Last year KiD CuDi, Asher Roth, Wale, Curren$y and others were featured and you now are either fans of and/or know about these popular 2009 Freshmen MCs as it was a big year for them and their releases.
Aside from the current list, J. Cole is destined to be the next brightest star, from being featured with already legendary artists and being signed the Big Homey himself, destiny isn't far a reach for this dude; remember we said that.
